1966 BLACK MUSTANG FASTBACK GT Rental Added in Virginia

Old Cop Cars has added the 1966 BLACK MUSTANG FASTBACK GT through the USA Movie Cars network. This vehicle sits in Midlothian, Virginia, giving productions working across the state a restored 1966 Mustang fastback for film, television, and commercial work. Crews can contact the network to check fit for scenes that need period vehicles from the mid-1960s.

Spotlight on this 1966 BLACK MUSTANG FASTBACK GT

The listing shows a black exterior Mustang fastback with red interior trim. It carries a 289 engine paired with a four-speed manual transmission and is described as a daily driver that has been restored. Two-door body style and gasoline fuel type match standard configurations for this model year. Producers can review the photos on the listing page to judge how the black paint and red interior read on camera under different lighting conditions.

The vehicle’s compact size and sporty profile make it suitable for shots where a character needs a personal car rather than a larger family sedan. Its restored condition supports both static establishing shots and scenes that require the car to move on camera. Location managers working near Richmond or other parts of central Virginia may find the Midlothian placement convenient for quick access.

Old Cop Cars and the Virginia Picture Car Market

Old Cop Cars focuses on law-enforcement vehicles but lists additional picture cars when they fit production needs through the USA Movie Cars network. The 1966 BLACK MUSTANG FASTBACK GT joins the roster as a non-police option that still serves Virginia-based shoots. Productions searching for local vehicles can start at Old Cop Cars and expand to connected state sites when a Mustang or other classic fits the script.

USA Movie Cars works with state picture-car sites such as Virginia Picture Cars to help productions find local picture vehicles without repeated national searches. A vehicle based in Midlothian, Virginia, reduces transport costs for crews already filming in the region. This network approach keeps options visible whether a project needs a patrol car, a period Mustang, or both.

History of the 1966 BLACK MUSTANG FASTBACK GT

The Mustang nameplate launched in 1964 and quickly became one of the most recognizable American cars of the decade. By 1966 the fastback body style had gained strong popularity for its sleek roofline and sporty stance. The GT trim added visual and performance cues that set these cars apart from base models in period advertising and media.

This particular example is noted as a 289 four-speed car, a common powertrain choice for drivers who wanted manual control in that era. The restored daily-driver status indicates the vehicle has been maintained for regular use rather than kept solely as a showpiece. General history of the model shows these Mustangs appeared in countless 1960s street scenes and period recreations because of their distinctive shape and widespread ownership at the time.

Virginia Picture Car Rental Uses

Productions can place this Mustang in scenes set during the late 1960s or early 1970s when the body style still looked current. Its black paint and red interior offer a clean contrast for both day and night shoots. Character-driven sequences often benefit from a two-door coupe that signals a younger or performance-oriented owner without additional set dressing.

Still photographers and music video crews can use the car for hero shots or background texture in Virginia locations. Event planners sometimes request classic vehicles for branded activations or photo opportunities tied to automotive themes. The restored condition supports repeated moves during a production day while the manual transmission gives sound and motion options that modern vehicles cannot match.
